How can I get a home equity loan with bad credit?
I have a home worth 550,000. I owe 187,000. I only need to borrow around 20,000 to hold me over until I sell my house. I just listed it with a realestate agent. Everone I talked to wants to refinece the whole loan.
Home equity lines of credit require higher scores, and that is probably why everyone is recommending that you refinance the entire loan. I say probably, because they will most likely also make more money by refinancing your entire loan. Have you completed an application and pulled credit? … you have so much equity I would think there’s a chance.

you could try a ak 47, or a colt 45. i wouldnt recomend it though.

No matter how bad your credit is — If the house is valed at 550,000 and you owe 20,000 you should be able to refi

They are just being oppertunistic. Stick to y our guns about what you want. Try lending tree or something.
Be very careful though you could be setting yourself up for a foreclosure. It isnt a great market what if it takes longer then you anticipate to sell? This is not something to do lightly.

sometimes you have to do what you have to do . your credit is not good and I’m sorry ,but even you have a lot of equity in your house- it is not yours ,till you sell the house. thing like this, if you need to refinance the whole mortgage, you will have 2 mth brake from paying your new mortgage and this way you will recover some closing costs, that is what probably hold you back to do this.
